Employee Layout

In this step, you’ll define a layout for your employee Entity and combine one of the existing forms, Action Bar and the Content Building block.

Add a Layout building block, provide the Display Name, Name, Description, mark Preview Layout and Full Layout.

Using the Item Url you can also use this Layout within other sites or access the layout directly.

Click the Add and then the Configure button.

On the left hand side of the modeller you can see predefined panels. Use drag and drop to add

  • Breadcrumbs
  • Actions
  • Form
  • Content and Preview.

Update your layout so that it looks like this:

Action Panel

Click on the Actions panel and select your Standard Employee Action Bar:

Form Panel

Click on the Form panel, change the Name and Description to Employee, Select Full in Chrome and select your Default Form as Form:

Contents and Preview

Click on each panel and select Full as Chrome:

Save your layout, close the modeller and publish the project to the organization.

Employee Layout in Process Experience

Switch to the Process Experience and open one of your employees. The layout will look like this:

Add files

To add a file, click on one of the existing categories – e.g. General. You can use drag and drop or the + button to upload new files.

To enlarge the panel, click following button:

With mouse over, you can open, download,… a file. At the bottom of the screen, you can switch between the other panels marked with Full Chrome – in this case: Employee and Preview.

To close the panel, click on following button:

To preview one or multiple files in the Preview panel, just mark the checkbox of one or more document(s):

Documents in Content Server

To access the documents using Content Server, you have to open the specified folder. In my case:

Enterprise -> OTCSRepo -> system -> opentextTrainingManagement -> Employee -> 1 -> Contents -> General
